Big Bend the Bountiful

For those of you who check out BRBdoingstuff on the reg, you will know that Big Bend is my favorite national park in the US! That’s why I saved the best for last on my latest road trip across the Southwest.

In the past I’ve gone into detail about why I love this park so much — varied landscapes, impressive wildlife, and unrivaled remoteness — so I’ll bite my tongue this time around and share a few photos instead.

Looking East from the park’s south rim.
The mouth of the stunning Santa Elena Canyon that divides Mexico and the US.
The banks of the Rio Grande inside Santa Elena Canyon provide a natural optical illusion.
Rio Grande in the morning.
Grasshopper!
View of “The Window” along the Chisos Basin Loop hike.
Male tarantula cruising across the road chasing tail.
Vermilion Flycatcher putting on a show.
Last glance of Big Bend on the way home.

Although I wasn’t planning any more road trips in 2017, life often has other plans in store. It turns out that Arizona –> New Mexico –> West Texas was nothing compared to my next adventure on wheels. Sweet lord!

BRB just doing stuff for a bit k?

  1. Thank you for your insight into another great adventure. Awesome photos from Big Bend National Park (I have added it to my bucket list). I am so jealous as I sit in my office surrounded by four walls and a window that looks out into nothing and a work environment that sucks the life out of everything. As I always say, I am on the edge of my seat awaiting your next adventure we get to share with you!
